Heyyy
So I'm back (officially!?!) . Slowly getting back to being my 'old' self I suppose, by reading some mangas...Maann! This hits home, I wonder when was the last time did I lose myself in a manga 😌.....
Love in Cherry blossom. I highly recommend this manga! Finished on 08/03/2020
I first found this out from it being an animated series then decided to finish the manga in English lol. More information right down below ⇣
Despite it's slow start which I gotta admit was tad boring, however as you go along the story line it gets better and is pretty refreshing!! Honestly up till now, never in my life have I felt so intrigued to actually carry on to read and finished a manga, What's more, to be more precise it's a manhwa meaning it's a Chinese comic. Sorry if it sounded patronising by the use of the emphaised words but seriously I haven't felt that much compulsion towards Chinese produced animation (ok that's a slight lie, see down below) let alone its' comic series.
I guess it's all thanks to now wanting to improve my mandarin since I started a part time job (lol) at an oriental/korean supermarket and my love for psychic princess, another good manghwa and now animated series to read and watch! (which I shall definitely do a quick review of this) hahaha
So Love in Cherry Blossom, Where do I begin!?!
This manghwa, as you can tell from its name, is about all about Love and I guess the abundance of life lol~ If I have to choose one word to describe this story it would be: Youth
Here a rating and a Summary of the story:
8/10
It basically revolves and centres around a girl name Lu and a boy name Xia Yi with both of them holding each other secret. The boy is the coolest guy in school whilst the girl is the shy innocent type. Both of them hold each other's secret and in order to keep it within themselves, they make and exchange a deal. Spoiler alert: One of them (the boy) offers to help produce a love confession (no surprise there). Could this be genuine or could it be a tease...? Or....?
Alright so you can probably gather the plot/ gist just from the summary of the story which does contains a spoiler, but that's the foundation of it. This mostly happens at the beginning (that was the boring bit lol) however I can assure you it does get better. Luckily I decided to carry on to read and not judge the book by its' cover- have to admit that was what pulled me in lol- and also the summary as well, as beside these two main characters we do have some side characters which to me was what brings out the finale and true flavour of the story. Going to leave a picture that sums what I meant by 'true flavour ' ⇣
Artwork: 10/10- Now I just don't do a section of a review purely on the artwork and would normally clump it all into one piece of the review but this part definitely needs a parts of its own!
At the beginning, the artwork wasn't that great but as the story progress and with time, it gets better making it aesthetically pleasing. I absolutely love it! (I currently making it my as phone background hahaha)
Final feelings and conclusion: 9/10
Overall, made it into my favourites to read and perhaps to watch out for again- looking forward to hearing and finishing it in Mandarin! And if got time to reading it (Mandarin) Chinese.
More Info: As of now writing, this manghwa is currently turn into an ongoing animated series. It is done slightly in a style of a Vomic (where its voice over in the comic) but there are some animated movement in the production made by animation Dong I presume, thus making it animated series.
